In 2006 we received a request from the Royal Somerset House & Inverness Lodge No 4 to provide a candidate to enable that lodge to carry out a degree ceremony. As Lodge of Assistance currently had too much work to handle, we requested RSH&I to Raise one of our members to the Third Degree on our behalf.

It had been three years since the Royal Somerset House & Inverness Lodge last had a live degree ceremony - interestingly, it had been our own Secretary who carried out that Raising ceremony three years ago! Two members of the Lodge of Assistance are also members of RSH&I No 4, namely our Secretary and our Director of Ceremonies (WBro the Rev’d Timothy L’Estrange and RWBro the Viscount Gough).

The ceremony took place on Monday 22nd January 2007 at Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, and was followed by dinner at the Garrick Club. A wonderful evening, attended by eight members of our lodge.
